The damaging of insulation material in district heating pre-insulated pipes is a very recurrent issue, due to the thermal and mechanical expansions caused by the different temperatures of the flowing water in the tube.
LK2 provides an effective solution for the recovery, based on the action of different materials supplied by CANUSA-CPS allowing a prompt solution and damage prevention. The selected materials do not affect the cathodic protection, guaranteeing the complete joint sealing and an excellent resistance to the mechanical stress.

LEAKS DETECTION SERVICE AND PIPELINES RECOVERY ON DISTRICT HEATING PIPELINE
AUTOMATIC REMOTE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR DISTRICT HEATING PIPELINES
Through its division DHS – District Heating Systems -, LK2 provides a dedicated system of cutting-edge monitoring control units: the system is based on the automated and continuous acquisition of two main electrical parameters (circuit continuity and insulation),thanks to an innovative technology which allows avoiding manual control and planning maintenance. At the same time, our data center manages the collected data with a real-time monitoring on each RTU.
Our dedicated software - hosted on LK2 servers - regularly downloads data from each RTU, analyzing and presenting them through graphs and charts directly to the end Users.
If a pipeline leak is detected, LK2 can provide its specialized personnel to assess the damage reported by MATP Systems to recover the damaged pipe portion.

ASSISTANCE SERVICE FOR DESIGN AND TESTING
LK2 also provides an advisory customized service for the realization of electrical circuits intended for the monitoring of the pipeline status, identifying and representing the measurement and sectioning point necessary to maintain the efficiency of the systems or detect leaks.
The service and the support offered to the Customer is extended through all the phases until the final and/or pilot tests, during the pipeline laying operations.
TRAINING SERVICE
LKS provides training sessions addressed to the Customer’s staff, with specific courses regarding the leak detection systems and the control procedures during the pipelines assembly.
